The 2019 Toyota Yaris has a new look for the new model year, but there is a lot more going on with this updated subcompact sedan than just the sleek new exterior. 1. The Exterior Look
The new Yaris has a new front fascia. The honeycomb-style grille insert gives it a sporty look, and the new model also has some piano black and chrome exterior trim elements. Both the LE and XLE models get 16-inch alloy wheels along with fog lights. These trims also get power-adjustable, heated side mirrors with integrated LED turn signals.
2. The Interior
Inside, the Yaris has a high-end feel with leatherette seats and a genuine leather-wrapped steering wheel in the XLE. All models get a 7-inch display screen, a USB port, and Bluetooth connectivity.
3. The Power
The Yaris comes with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 106 horsepower and 103 pound-feet of torque. Toyota pairs this with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic. What’s most surprising is how fun the Yaris is behind the wheel. The manual shifts smoothly through the gears and the tight suspension is much better than what you normally see in a subcompact.
