There’s been a lot of buzz around the redesigned Toyota Tundra. It’s slated to hit dealerships sometime this fall (including Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA). While the automaker has been pretty tight-lipped about what’s coming, there have been some “teases” which we’re happy to share with Tundra fans.

First off, the 2022 Toyota Tundra has gotten a makeover with a new exterior look, redesigned cabin, and more impressively, a new engine.

For years, the Tundra has been powered by a V8. From what we can glean from the teasers, the 2022 will feature a V6 iForce Max engine, which likely has turbocharged options. That’s a lot more power, not to mention fuel efficiency. For the “greener” minded, a hybrid powertrain seems very likely as well.

We’ve also sniffed out that the new Toyota Tundra will come with a ten-speed automatic transmission and will be a bit lighter in weight due to a new body-on-frame construction and high-strength steel.

Now let’s have a look inside. Teaser photos that have been released show a plush interior with available red fabric, perforated leather accents and badging on the seats. An edgy knob for various “drive” modes reveals available TowHaul, Downhill Assist Control, and Multi-Terrain Select. That makes this Tundra ready for any kind of terrain (which is one reason people love it so much). We’re making a solid bet that it will also have all the safety features Toyota is known for, from automatic braking, lane departure warning and the like.

Besides rugged outdoor adventures, the cabin of the new Toyota Tundra will feature what’s needed for inside entertainment: wireless charging, infotainment options, and a tablet-style touchscreen to navigate it all.

No doubt, the 2022 Toyota Tundra, which rolls into the Peruzzi Toyota showroom before too long, is a truly exciting upgrade on this super-popular model.
