If you’re looking for something fun to do this spring, here’s a look at some of the upcoming events hosted by the library.

Game Day for Teens

Starting at 4 p.m. every Tuesday and Friday, young people age 12 and older can head to the library for Game Day. The library offers video games such as “Super Smash Brothers” on the Wii U. If you aren’t into video games, you can opt for a game around trading cards such as Magic: The Gathering. Anyone who wants to try a traditional board game can start up a round of checkers or Scrabble.

Baby Lap Rap

On Wednesday, March 15 from 10:30 to 11 a.m., parents can bring their babies to the Norristown branch for Baby Lap Rap. Featuring stories and musical activities, parents and babies can enjoy time together. Mother Goose rhymes come to life on a flannel board; songs become interactive when babies play with shaker eggs. Geared toward babies age 0 to 24 months along with their caregiver, the program is fluid so patrons can drop in or leave as necessary.

Learn to Use Excel

Adults can take multiple sessions throughout March to learn how to use Microsoft Excel. As a spreadsheet program, Excel allows users to enter and manage large amounts of data and set up budgets. This program requires pre-registration.

As winter winds down and spring approaches, check out these programs for specific age groups at the Montgomery County Public Library in Norristown.
