The all-new 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback is back with a new look and more power. The updated version has an upscale interior with a surprising amount of space and high-end materials throughout. Here is a look at the 2019 Corolla Hatchback.
The Exterior
The front of the Corolla Hatchback has a wide grille to give it a look similar to other models in the lineup. It sits low to the ground with a wide track, and it has a longer wheelbase than the regular Corolla. Around the back, the rounded liftgate has LED taillights on each side.
The Power
Under the hood, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine generates 168 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque. It comes with a six-speed manual transmission that has an automatic rev-matching system that smooths out the shifting, but you can turn this off with just a push of a button if you want. A six-speed CVT is also available.
The Models
The Corolla Hatchback comes in two different trims starting with the SE. This entry-level model comes standard with LED headlights, 16-inch alloy wheels, and keyless entry. Step up to the XSE for 18-inch wheels, LED fog lights, and a chrome grille surround. It also adds leather seat inserts and heated front seats.
The Technology
Standard technology includes an 8-inch touch screen display, Apple CarPlay, and Amazon Alexa, the Entune 3.0- infotainment system, and a Wi-Fi hot spot. The XSE adds satellite radio and the option for built-in navigation.
