The Toyota brand has been making headlines with lots of bold new developments across their line. There’s been plenty of rumors and speculation surrounding the new version of the Toyota Tundra, and while we have some time until we see it, Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA can share a little scuttlebutt that’s been floating around.

One of the biggest (possible) developments is that the Toyota Tundra will be losing its V8 engine. That engine has been a stalwart for years, providing impressive power especially when it comes to towing. However, the power has come at a bit of a cost regarding fuel efficiency. There’s new technology out there that can provide plenty of horsepower, and yet be stingy on the fuel costs. It’s expected that the Toyota Tundra will sign on to that.

Another bit of news out there is that the Tundra (which will be available at Peruzzi Toyota) may have either an electric or hybrid drivetrain. That’s something that’s been ever-more-prominent and popular among vehicle owners. Plus, Toyota did mention in an earlier press release that the company is pushing for more electrification across certain sectors of their truck line, so…

Now considering all these changes, you might be concerned that the Toyota Tundra’s reputation for power and towing capacity might be diminished, but you would be wrong. The evidence lies in the wheels. Currently, the Tundra wheel has 5-lug attached wheels, but leaked photos reveal a 6-lug attachment on the new model. Additional lugs indicate that the wheel will need additional strength, so from that, one can assume there’s more power driving that need.

While these rumors are exciting in and of themselves, the real excitement will come when the next generation Toyota Tundra is officially unveiled a little later this year. And the place to see it first will be Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA.
