Artificial Intelligence, or “AI”, has been all over the news lately. It sounds very sci-fi, promising all kinds of advantages for the things we do in daily life. While there are still questions about AI over the long term, for now, it’s proving useful. Toyota has been turning to AI in several ways; Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA is proud to share how we’re embracing this exciting new technology.
At the design and manufacturing stage, Toyota has found that AI considerably speeds up the process. It helps our engineers to more easily factor in elements like aerodynamics and weight as they work on cutting-edge designs. It’s also a wonderful tool for brainstorming creative ideas.
Within the Toyota vehicle itself, AI combines computer knowledge and outside data to “learn,” solve problems and predict solutions. Nowhere is this more apparent than within the Toyota safety features. Safety is a main driver of the Toyota mission; AI helps the vehicle detect pedestrians, warns you if you’re following another car too closely, or if you drift out of your lane. The technology is also found in the anti-lock braking system, stability control, and airbag systems – just to name a few.
Utilizing Toyota’s many connected services like “Safety Connect” or “Remote Connect” helps AI learn more about you. It analyzes your preferences, driving behavior and habits, and creates a better overall experience. It provides WiFi when you need it, alerts you to an open door or important tasks like regular maintenance needs, saving you from much bigger problems (and expenses) down the road.
Of course, AI is merely technology. While it makes the day-to-day Toyota driving experience better, it can’t replace your own common sense or driving abilities – so stay aware when you’re on the road. Still, Peruzzi Toyota is excited to see the role Artificial Intelligence plays in future vehicles!
