Toyota has always been known for its reliable, dependable vehicles. With every model year, they upgrade the technology and comfort, too. But now comes word that the automaker is going next level with an ultra-luxurious SUV, the all-new Toyota Century. Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA has been hearing the chatter for months about this breakthrough and has some details (and a few speculations).
For several months, “teasers” have been leaking out into the car world about this new version of the Century, a big step up from the sedan model. Details about its imposing exterior appear to include a distinctive rear fender, plenty of chrome, and squared-off rear lights reminiscent of a Rolls-Royce. That would seem to be a nod to the high-end customer Toyota hopes to attract.
The vehicle is built to accommodate three rows of seating, but there’s some talk that the space will be used instead for two rows that provide enormous amounts of leg room – and perhaps even reclining rear seats. Of course, the new Century is getting an anticipated engine upgrade as well with a plug-in hybridized V8 powertrain.
Thus far, the Toyota Century has only been available in Japan, a desirable high-end vehicle favored by VIPs. But the buzz is that this ultra-luxurious SUV edition will be rolled out here in America sometime soon. The price tag is a little steep (well over 100K), but the features and upgrades are certain to trickle down into upcoming models including the humbler Toyota Highlander. So even if the Toyota Century isn’t in your budget, you may still be able to enjoy some of its elegance!
