3 Signs of a Leak Under Your Hood
It is important to know what is going on with your car and to pay attention when there are potential problems. This includes paying attention to the different fluids used to keep the engine running smoothly. If one of them is leaking, it can cause big problems. These are some of the signs of a leak under your hood.
1. Dark Spots on the Ground
If you notice dark puddles on the ground when you back out of a parking spot, it is a possible indication of a leak. If the spots are dark brown or yellow, it could be an oil leak. If there are other spots on the ground, you can lay down a piece of cardboard under the car or some plastic to check to see if the leak is coming from your car.
2. Rising Temperature Gauge
If the temperature gauge starts to rise on a regular basis, it could mean there is a leak in the radiator. A leaking radiator can cause the coolant reservoir to drop, which causes the engine to overheat. You can check this by filling the coolant reservoir and then checking it after driving for a few days.
3. A Smoking Engine
If you notice smoke coming from under the hood or the surface is very hot, it could mean you have an oil leak. When the oil drips into the manifold, it will create smoke or steam that you can see coming from under the hood.
Make sure to watch for these warning signs of a leak under your hood. If you notice any of these signs, bring your car to your mechanic.

A Sneak Peek at the 2019 Toyota Supra
Details about the 2019 Toyota Supra are slowly coming out, and fans are getting excited. Toyota revealed the news of a new Supra at the Geneva Motor Show, but there is still a lot to learn about the sports car. Here is a sneak peek at the 2019 Toyota Supra.
The Power
The new Supra should have a 3.0-liter twin turbo inline six that will get 335 horsepower, and an automatic transmission will help this new version of the iconic sports car reach 60 miles per hour in just 4.5 seconds. There is also the possibility of an entry-level 2.0-liter turbo engine that will get 248 horsepower, and even some speculation about a more powerful GRMN.
The Models
Although not confirmed, there is speculation that there will be four different Supra models. These will include the base Supra, the Supra GR, the GR Sport, and the GRMN.
The Interior
Toyota introduced a prototype of the new Supra at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Even though they kept it covered in camouflage, there were some hints of what to expect inside. The steering wheel looks a lot like the BMW Z4’s with touch controls on the sides, and the infotainment system includes a free-standing screen.
While there is still not a lot of information available about the 2019 Supra, Toyota is slowly starting to provide some of the details. What we do know is that it is coming, and it should go on sale sometime in the first half of 2019.
2018 Toyota RAV4 vs 2018 Ford Escape
When you opt for an SUV, you’re expecting a vehicle that can handle both running around town – and taking on harder duties, like the occasional stint of off-roading. There are plenty of models out there competing for your attention, two being the 2018 Toyota RAV4 and the 2018 Ford Escape. So how do they stack up against each other? The experts at Peruzzi Toyota offer some helpful details that buyers should know about.
The Toyota RAV4 packs more power than the Escape, specifically 176 hp and 172-lb-ft of torque over the Escape’s 168 hp. For fuel economy, you can expect a combined 23 city/30 hwy mpg with the RAV4; the Escape can’t match that. If you opt for RAV4’s hybrid model, your fuel economy will be even more impressive.
The same goes regarding all-important cargo space: while the Escape only offers a maximum of 68 cubic feet when the back seats are down, you’ll get a massive 73.4 cubic feet in the 2018 Toyota RAV4. That’s just one reflection of the spacious interior you and your passengers will enjoy – not to mention available BlueTooth, infotainment system and a host of other special features.
For 2018, the Toyota RAV4 is offering two special packages to make your ride even more customized. The Cold Weather Package provides cozy touches like a heated steering wheel, heated seats and a de-icing system for the windshield. For families who enjoy going off the beaten path, the Adventure package includes sturdier wheels and a raised suspension for more ground clearance.
As for safety, the RAV4 has consistently earned the highest ratings from both the NHTSA and the IIHS. That’s perhaps because of the standard Toyota Safety Sense Package, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection and more.
Summing it all up, the 2018 Toyota RAV4 more than delivers in the all-important areas of economy, spaciousness, and safety. Not to mention, it easily adapts between city duties and more rugged adventures. The friendly experts at Peruzzi Toyota can tell you more – and offer a test drive of the 2018 RAV4. The Toyota Highlander and the Honda Pilot consistently rank among the best-selling mid-size SUVs on the market. Kelly Blue Book has included each on their list of “Best Family Cars.” So what are the features on the 2018 Toyota Highlander that allow it to edge out the Pilot as your best choice? Here’s a look, courtesy of Peruzzi Toyota.
For starters, U.S. News and World Report rate the 2018 Toyota Highlander at #1 in midsize, three-row SUVs; the Pilot comes in at #3. U.S. News also ranks the Highlander as one of the best SUVs for your money.
In the fuel economy department, both vehicles run pretty much neck and neck, although the Highlander has a slight edge. But it’s the elegant interior of the 2018 Toyota Highlander that really pulls ahead over the Pilot.
You’ll experience a super-comfortable ride, not to mention one that’s super-quiet thanks to special silencing insulation. The Toyota Highlander gets points over the Pilot for its more user-friendly infotainment system and five USB ports that keep everybody connected.
While each SUV offers third-row seating, those seats in the Highlander recline. They can also be folded down in several configurations to offer great cargo space.
The suite of standard safety features on the Toyota Highlander is superior to what you’ll find on the Pilot. Expect Lane Departure Assist, Pre-Collision Alert with Pedestrian Detection, Automatic High Beams and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control which automatically slows you down if it senses a car moving more slowly ahead of you.
No question about it: the roomy, sophisticated interior of the 2018 Toyota Highlander, coupled with outstanding driver-assist features, makes it the easy pick. 2018 Toyota Highlander vs 2018 Toyota 4Runner
With so many crossover SUVs on the market, how do you pick the ride that best fits your lifestyle? You can start by narrowing your first looks to two in particular: the 2018 Toyota Highlander and the 2018 Toyota 4Runner, both currently available at Peruzzi Toyota. Both models are enormously popular among drivers, but here are some details that can help you make your choice.
The 2018 Toyota Highlander is a great option for families. It comfortably seats up to eight, and includes plenty of helpful interior touches like the Driver Easy Speak Intercom that helps reach those kids in the third row glued to their screens. You can also cruise knowing you and your passengers are protected by a top-shelf suite of safety features including pre-collision warning and braking, lane-departure warning and adaptive cruise control.
The Toyota Highlander gets excellent gas mileage (30 mpg combined), and offers three drive-train choices, including a hybrid model. In this regard, it does better than Toyota’s other popular crossover SUV, the 2018 Toyota 4Runner.
However, the 4Runner is a solid option for those with a more outdoors lifestyle. Unlike the Highlander, it seats five but makes up for lesser passenger capacity in its off-road and towing abilities. This doesn’t mean it can’t also handle city streets comfortably; even though it’s built more like a truck, it handles those urban bumps easily.
The 2018 Toyota 4Runner is legendary for its durability – and terrific resale value. Like the Highlander, it includes comprehensive safety features like vehicle stability, advanced airbag system and Smart Stop Technology.
Whether your lifestyle is more about running the kids all over town (Highlander) or running the family over rugged back roads for a camping trip (4Runner), Toyota has the crossover SUV perfect for your needs. Stop into Peruzzi Toyota at 2601 Bethlehem Pike in Hatfield, PA for a closer look and to take a test drive.
2018 Toyota Tacoma Overview
The Toyota Tacoma has long had a reputation as one of the most reliable and popular pickup trucks on the road. In fact, it’s consistently ranked #1 among compact pickups. The 2018 model Tacoma, available at Peruzzi Toyota, has been upgraded with features that keep it a top choice for those wanting a truck that combines everyday practicality with solid off-road chops.
The 2018 Toyota Tacoma features a powerful V-6 engine, capable of towing up to 6,800 pounds. Manual transmission and four-wheel drive are available for those wanting a slightly more robust driving experience. If you spend more time off-road than on, several trim packages let you customize your Tacoma to handle any adventure.
Whichever one you choose, you can expect a little more flair in the exterior styling: the 2018 Tacoma features distinctive fender flares, plus slightly higher hood and belt lines. On the inside, enjoy a touchscreen infotainment system.
When it comes to fuel economy, the 2018 Toyota Tacoma averages a respectable 20 mpg combined. And as for safety, you won’t find a compact pickup truck packing more standard safety features. The Tacoma stands alone in its complete suite of standard safety assists, including automatic high beams and adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and lane-departure warning.
With so many options out there, picking a versatile truck that can handle anything is simple: the 2018 Toyota Tacoma, ranked #1 for good reason. Independence National Historical Park
All patriots must head straight to Independence National Historical Park, nicknamed “America’s most historic square mile.” It’s home to all the important sites dedicated to the American Revolution and the nation’s founding history. Reading Terminal Market
Foodies should head to the city’s oldest farmer’s market, Reading Terminal Market. Feast your eyes and fill your belly on all the delectable foods, including Middle Eastern, Thai, and Indian cuisines. What is Toyota Safety Sense?
One of the benefits of buying a Toyota is the impressive list of safety features that are standard on most Toyota cars. Lane departure and poor night visibility cause many vehicle accidents. To help prevent collisions, Toyota addresses these issues with its Toyota Safety Sense suite.
Toyota Safety Sense C
The TSS-C package is offered on Toyota’s compact vehicles like the Yaris, Corolla iM, and Prius C. It includes:
- Pre-Collision System With Vehicle Detection: A camera and laser beam detect a vehicle ahead and prompt the driver to brake when it senses an imminent collision. If the driver fails to brake, the system will automatically apply brakes to reduce speed.
- Lane Departure Alert: A camera on the windshield detects white and yellow lane markings and alerts the driver when it senses the vehicle veering across lanes.
- Automatic High Beams: The vehicle detects oncoming headlights and the taillights of preceding vehicles and automatically switches between high and low beams.
Toyota Safety Sense P
The TSS-P package is available on Toyota’s midsize and large vehicles like the Corolla, RAV4, and Highlander. It includes all of the above with some additional features:
- The pre-collision system adds pedestrian detection.
- The lane departure alert includes lane steering assist.
- TSS-P adds Dynamic Radar Cruise Control that uses both a camera and radar to detect how close you are to the vehicle ahead and adjusts speed to maintain a safe distance.
Most other vehicle brands offer these types of advanced safety features as optional extras. Toyota, however, offers drivers peace of mind by including Toyota Safety Sense on most of its 2018 models.
