Pennsylvania Toyota Dealership Explains Why Seven Different Toyotas Are IIHS Top Safety Picks
Safety has been Toyota’s number one priority since the beginning. Over time, they’ve been among the first to fully integrate cutting edge safety features as standard equipment. Maybe that’s why the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, one of the nation’s top auto safety benchmarks, continuously recognizes Toyota. Your Pennsylvania Toyota dealership takes you through what it means to be a TSP or TSP+.
IIHS
For those not familiar, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is a non-profit organization set up in the late 1950s to test and evaluate vehicles for safety. Based out of Arlington, Virginia, and funded by insurance companies, the IIHS recommendations are held at the same level as the federal government’s. In fact, they have pioneered crash testing to more accurately reflect real crash conditions.
TSP
To become a Top Safety Pick, a vehicle has to receive a score of “good” (the highest IIHS gives) in all of the major safety areas: moderate overlap (frontal collision), side impact, roof strength, and how it protects the head in an accident.
For example, the 2015 Avalon and RAV4 have consistently been found to offer superior protection for passengers in these areas and have done well in what’s called the “small overlap front test,” replicating a driver corner to driver corner front collision.
TSP+
Recently, IIHS raised the bar with the TSP+. For this, a vehicle has to meet all the criteria for a TSP, but must also be equipped with effective crash prevention technologies like brake assist among others.
For instance, the Toyota Highlander, Prius, Prius v, Sienna, and Camry have all been awarded this top honor.
Hatfield Area Toyota Talks about the 2015 Avalon XLE
Toyota is renowned for quality. What was once a company making what would be considered micro cars by today’s standards has grown to manufacture some of the world’s most
popular minivans, trucks, and sedans. The 2015 Avalon XLE is just one of the large stable and your Hatfield Area Toyota dealer wants to tell you all about it.
In the Beginning
The Avalon comes in at an EPA-estimated 31 miles per gallon on the highway. It does so because of the 3.5-liter V6 engine that uses VVT to create efficiency as well as 268 horsepower and 248 pounds of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission works with ECO or Sport mode to tailor the engine output to your needs.
Mixed with Safety
Toyota comes to the topic of safety with everything they have. The trademark Star Safety System include ten different airbags. Advanced bags in the front seats use sensors to monitor and adapt to crash conditions while knee, side, and curtain airbags help protect the entire cabin. Anti-lock, ventilated disc brakes are controlled electronically with Smart Stop while stability and traction control adapt to road conditions on the fly.
Add a Dash (or Three) of Luxury
The XLE comes standard with dual-zone automatic climate control with microfiltration, cruise control, leather trim, heated front seats, and an eight-way adjustable driver’s seat. Add to that Entune premium audio: an eight-speaker sound system with AM/FM/CD/MP3 playback, a 6-inch touchscreen interface, SiriusXM readiness with free trial, USB ports for multiple devices, and Bluetooth connectivity for streaming as well as hands free calling and voice command
Toyota’s Move to Texas Is Just the First Change
For decades, Toyota has grown to become a household name that means quality. While it’s taken years to earn the trust of the American car-buying public, any company knows that adapting is a must for survival. Toyota’s recent move from California to Texas is just one of several innovations the automaker is driving toward. Your Toyota dealer in the Trenton Area gives you the scoop.
The What
Recently, Toyota broke ground in Plano, Texas, for its state-of-the-art production and research facility. The design for the campus will allow for around 4,000 employees in everything from R&D to spray coating. The move marks a shift in the company to consolidate its various locations around the country, including California.
The Why
On the surface, it makes sense for almost any business to be “under one roof,” but it goes deeper than that. Texas has made itself extremely appealing to businesses by reducing corporate taxes and limiting red tape that companies need to wade through. Even the employees that Toyota lures to Texas will receive tax breaks and benefits. However, Toyota’s North American CEO, Jim Lentz, points out another reason. Toyota is in a race to innovate and so creating a more collaborative and, frankly, younger work force with new ideas is part of Toyota’s strategy to be ahead of the curve on things like fuel cell technology and driverless systems.
The Result
While the new facility is going to take some time, the consumer should benefit in the long run since Toyota will be able to develop and manufacture at quicker rates and lower costs.
Once upon a time, leases were considered a last resort. Shady dealings and shifty sellers would manipulate lessees with balloon payments and unexpected incidentals. Luckily, today’s
world knows a lease that is cut and dry and dependable. One of the results is a secondary market like never before. Your Toyota dealership near Philadelphia has three great vehicles, all under 10,000 miles.

Pennsylvania Toyota Dealership Reports: First Toyota Fuel Cell Vehicle Delivered to Prime Minister
Toyota has been making headlines for months now with the development of their first mass-produced fuel cell vehicle, the Mirai. Most recently, the very first unit of the very first fuel cell vehicle available to the public was delivered to Japan’s Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe. Your Pennsylvania Area Toyota dealer gives you the full scoop.
The What
On January 15th, 2015, Shinzo Abe took delivery of the very first Mirai. The event was prestigious and several other high-ranking figures, including Toyota’s president, Akio Toyoda, noted that it ushers in a new era of vehicles: hydrogen fuel cells. Similar to the Prius and hybrid technology, Toyota is positioning itself to be at the forefront of the market. The engine uses a chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen to create electricity with water as the only by-product.
The Why
It shouldn’t surprise anyone that Toyota would deliver the first Mirai in such style. When they announced last year that they would be producing these vehicles for the general public, it was expected to give consumers yet another option for much cleaner fuel alternatives. The Mirai, for example, can get as much as 300 miles on a single filling of hydrogen.
The Result
The Mirai is still only available in Japan at the moment, but don’t get discouraged. Toyota plans to offer the Mirai in the United States later in 2015. What’s more, they’ve announced that nearly 1,000 patents they own on fuel cell technology will be available for free to other companies, encouraging competition in technology as well as price which should bring down the expected $57,000 price tag.
Over the decades since Toyota has been around, they’ve moved steadily higher and higher in American rankings. While once they were synonymous with small, by listening to their
customers, Toyota has now become synonymous with quality. Case in point: your Hatfield Area Toyota dealer presents the 2015 Venza XLE AWD.
Basics
Coming in with an EPA-estimated 25 miles per gallon on the highway, the Venza uses a 3.5-liter V6 with double overhead cam and variable valve timing in order to improve efficiency and still deliver 268 horsepower and 246 pounds of torque. Electronically controlled variable transmission comes standard and the all-wheel drive train makes the Venza a sedan that can handle anything the road can throw your way.
Safety
Toyota’s top priority is safety. That’s why their trademarked safety system uses seven different airbags throughout the cabin, including intelligent bags in the front and knee, side, and curtain airbags to protect everyone inside. Meanwhile, the electronic traction and stability control, brake force distribution, Smart Stop Technology, and power-assisted, anti-lock disc brakes keep you from needing them.
Life’s Little Extras
They say life is about the journey and not just the destination. Toyota agrees. That’s why they equip the XLE with dual-zone climate control, integrated backup camera, leather trim, heated front seats, and a six-speaker premium audio system with AM/FM/CD/MP3 playback, Bluetooth connectivity for hands free calling or streaming, HD radio, SiriusXM readiness with free trial, and USB jacks for multiple devices.
With all of the things that we have to worry about these days, you wouldn’t think that car theft would be one of them. It’s true, though. Last year alone, nearly 700,000 cars were stolen. How do you defend yourself? Your Hatfield Area Toyota dealer wants to to tell you.
Common Sense
You’d be amazed how many people still don’t lock their vehicles. It’s also the first line of defense against thieves. Likewise, never leave your keys inside your car and never, ever leave it running unattended, no matter how short your stop will be.
Where You Park
It should go without saying that parking in a garage is preferable to parking on a street. If you don’t have a garage or access to one that is secure, do everything you can to park on streets that are well lit and well travelled. Parking underneath a street lamp for example can greatly reduce your risk.
Visible Deterrents
Items like “The Club” may not be entirely effective at keeping someone from stealing your car, but it is effective in getting thieves to keep moving. Having a visible security sticker, light, or device can make a thief think twice about trying.
Actual Security
There’s no replacement for actual security. Make sure you have a security system that works and will get noticed. Newer systems will link to a phone so that you can monitor it no matter where you are.
The Extra Mile
If you’re willing, driving a manual transmission is one of the best ways to thief-proof your vehicle.
The world of SUVs is pretty crowded. Ever since the 1990s, almost every automaker out there has some model or another and promises to go with it. The thing is that many of them are based on the Rav4, now in its 20th year on the road. Your Pennsylvania Toyota dealer wants to show you why the 2015 Rav4 Limited AWD is still leading the way.
The Power It Has
The Rav4 has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that uses variable valve timing to give you an EPA-estimated 29 miles per gallon on the highway at the same time that it gives you 176 horsepower and 172 pounds of torque, all with all-wheel drive.
The Things It Can Do
The Rav4 is the perfect answer to every family that has a lot to move around. With comfortable seating for five, the Rav4 also has over 70 cubic feet of cargo space and can tow 1,500 pounds.
The Safety It Provides
In addition to power-assisted, ventilated, anti-lock disc brakes, the Rav4 also uses brake force distribution to make sure that you can stop when you need to. Add to that electronically controlled traction and stability control as well as advanced airbags in the front and curtain airbags throughout the cabin.
The Luxuries It Allows
Dual-zone automatic climate control and parking assist integrated into a backup camera are just the tip of the iceberg. The Rav4 also comes with a six-speaker audio system with AM/FM/CD/MP3 playback, SiriusXM readiness, USB and auxiliary input jacks for multiple devices, and Bluetooth streaming and handsfree calling.
