Since its debut in 1995, the Toyota Tacoma has been a popular choice for those looking for a stylish, yet hardworking truck. It's been the best-selling midsize truck for many years running. Now there’s one more reason to give it a serious look: the 2020 Toyota Tacoma just received a coveted award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for improved safety due to upgraded LED headlights (available on the TRD Pro and TRD Limited trims). The 2020 Toyota Tacoma is only the third pickup truck to get this recommendation as a “Top Safety Pick.” Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA is proud to offer this impressive vehicle. Yet there are even more safety-minded features that make the Tacoma a truck worth considering. The 2020 Toyota Tacoma includes plenty of standard driver-assistance technologies that up the safety factors. Expect pre-collision braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, high-speed adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. If you choose the TRD Limited or Pro trims, you can also rely on blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert warnings. Advanced airbag systems in both front and side are standard on all models. While Toyota never rests on its laurels when it comes to safety features, that same attitude applies to its interior details. The 2020 Toyota Tacoma features Apple CarPlay that lets you send/receive messages, make calls and play your tunes via an intuitive touchscreen. The available Panoramic View Monitor provides a 360-degree view, while the available Smart Key System lets you start the engine and unlock doors with a simple Smart Key Fob (even when it's in your purse or pocket.) And two USB ports keep your devices fully charged. Of course, the main point of a truck is to be a workhorse. With an available V-6 engine, the 2020 Toyota Tacoma can tow up to 6800 pounds, making it perfect for both on-the-job duties or a weekend of off-roading adventures. No matter what you’re using it for, you can breathe easy knowing that it ranks as a “Top Safety Pick.” Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA is your destination for checking out this popular truck choice. Come on by for a test drive!
HOW WINTER AFFECTS YOUR CAR BATTERY
Cooler temperatures don’t just affect your desire to put on a sweater and sip hot chocolate, they also affect your vehicle’s battery. Winter will be here before you know it, so Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA recommends knowing these facts about how winter affects your car battery: Winter affects your car battery in unique ways, causing it to not perform as well. Here are four main reasons for that. 1) Thicker oil: in winter, your engine’s oil thickens up, which means it doesn’t flow through the system as well. Thus, your battery has to work harder to start the engine. 2) Increased workload: on a nasty winter's day, you could be running the heater, defroster, windshield wipers, and headlights – all at once. Not surprisingly, over a long period, this puts a big strain on the car’s battery. 3) Lower capacity: cold temperatures affect the battery’s ability to generate power. In fact, in winter, a car battery can lose as much as 20 percent of capacity when the temperature drops below 32 degrees. If your car battery is weak, winter can do it in and there you are, waiting in a snowy parking lot for someone to give you a jump. 4) Slower recharging: the alternator automatically “recharges” the battery as you drive. However, that recharge rate slows in winter months. According to Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA, some common signs that winter is affecting your car battery include headlights that glow “yellow” instead of bright white, an engine that cranks more slowly, a funky “rotten egg” smell or a dome light that appears dimmer. You’re also at risk for winter battery failure if yours is more than three years old. Just like checking your tires, checking the state of your battery before winter is essential. The service experts at Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA are happy to help get your car battery ready for winter.
THE 2020 TOYOTA SIENNA: WHAT’S NEW
The popular Toyota Sienna minivan has been dubbed the “Swagger Wagon” for its exceptional style and design. This is no “plain vanilla” minivan. The Toyota Sienna gives you all the practical room and features that a busy family needs, but includes eye-catching details that will set you apart from the usual suspects on the road. The 2020 model of the Sienna includes some special new details which you can see up close at Peruzzi Toyota. For 2020, every trim level of the Sienna features Amazon Alexa and Apple CarPlay as standard. This makes accessing things like your phone, maps, music and more - super-easy. Also standard is Toyota’s “Safety Sense P” package, which features innovations like Lane Departure Alert warning, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control to keep you safer on long drives and Pre-Collision Warning with Pedestrian Detection. Additional safety features include Brake Assist, Smart Stop Technology, and Traction Control. Slide inside the spacious, comfy interior and tap the 7-inch touch screen to easily connect with your apps, music and more. The wider dashboard, surrounded by elegant soft-touch features, keeps you in full control of cabin climate, driving features, your technology and more. A new acoustic windshield (on the SE trim level) makes the cabin even quieter (except, perhaps when the kids are laughing over the movies they're watching on the available Dual-View Blu-ray Disc Entertainment Center which includes a 16.4-inch color display and more.) Plus, eight airbags will keep your family and passengers safe. One big addition to the 2020 Toyota Sienna is the “Nightshade Edition.” This special premium trim version is far sportier, featuring a spoiler, sport mesh front grille, mirror caps and more. The all-black interior contrasts nicely against the four sleek exterior colors (Midnight Black Metallic, Celestial Silver Metallic, Salsa Red Pearl and Super White). When you swing through the school drop-off lane, you’re guaranteed to make one heck of an impression. Bottom line: the 2020 Toyota Sienna is the minivan for people who don’t “like” minivans. Stylish, safe, and tech-savvy, this vehicle will serve you and your family well for years to come. Come by Peruzzi Toyota and have a look.
WHEN TOYOTA HITS THE TRACK: THE 2020 SUPRA
The Toyota brand is well-known for being comfortable, dependable and always striving to develop leading-edge technology features. But the automaker also likes to take their vehicles out into new territory to test their performance - and maybe learn a few things to make Toyota even better. (And sometimes, it’s just plain fun!) Peruzzi Toyota wanted to share some recent news, because everyday drivers may just be seeing some of these technologies showing up in their next new Toyota. The 2020 version of Toyota’s Supra model recently pushed some limits at California’s Buttonwillow Raceway. Just a little bit of context: at the challenging Buttonwillow course, any lap time of under two minutes is considered impressive. Well, the 2020 Supra took to the track and hit its mark in a minute and 59 seconds. Considering that the vehicle is powered by a 3.0 liter, V6 turbo engine that kicks up to 335 HP, those results are even more eye-opening. Plus, the 2020 Toyota Supra was up against other sportscar-type models that are far more expensive. Toyota has done a thorough redesign of the Supra engine to ensure that it wrings every bit of power out of it; that redesign proved itself handsomely on the Buttonwillow track. While no one is advocating trying to hit a 2-minute track record on your average Main Street, it’s nice to know that you can find a sporty yet reliable car that’s fun to drive. The 2020 Toyota Supra fits that bill nicely and is a great choice for anyone who hopes to trade in the family minivan for something a little sexier (that won’t break the bank.) Unlike higher-end models, this one won’t ever let you down. Swing by Peruzzi Toyota to learn more about this exciting “next development” in Toyota design and technology!
THE 2020 TOYOTA 4RUNNER “VENTURE” EDITION: A NEW NAME FOR “ADVENTURE”
Drivers who love to take the “road less traveled” have learned that the Toyota 4Runner is an always-reliable companion: sturdy, comfortable and fun to drive. This well-built SUV model is the smart choice when you need a vehicle that can do it all, from the school pickup to a weekend wilderness getaway. For 2020, Toyota has unveiled a new version of the 4Runner with the “Venture” edition. Peruzzi Toyota can fill you in on all the details, but here’s the deal on this exciting new SUV. For those times you and the family head out into wilder territory, the “Venture” edition has you covered with plenty of high-tech functionality. The standard CRAWL control gives you smart ways to steer through challenging terrain, providing extra traction and reducing wheel slippage in areas of sand, dirt or rock. Naturally, as with all Toyotas, the Toyota Safety Sense suite of features come standard on the 4Runner “Venture.” That includes automatic high beams, lane departure alert, pre-collision system with pedestrian detection and much more. Outside of the Toyota 4Runner’s already-sturdy design, the “Venture” edition features the Megawarrior roof rack, constructed of heavy-duty steel. This provides roomy top storage for all that extra gear. And from muddy soccer cleats to wet camping gear, the Toyota 4Runner “Venture” keeps the interior clean with standard all-weather floor mats, including a rear cargo mat. Inside the 4Runner “Venture” is an updated multimedia system controlled via a luxe 8-inch touch screen. You’ll toggle effortlessly through your apps, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa and Bluetooth (the 2 USB ports in the rear seats also come in handy for charging devices). Another instrumentation panel provides instant updates on key functions like fuel economy, tire pressure, and other important features. And you’ll appreciate the Smart Key with Push Button Start. If you’re looking for the next-generation SUV that takes things up a notch, the Toyota 4Runner “Venture” edition is a great fit. Want to learn more? Toyota Steps It Up for the 2018 Camry
For the last 15 years, the Toyota Camry has been the best-selling sedan in America. It’s become famous for its reliability, affordability, and simplicity, but it’s also never been the type of car that enthusiasts get worked up over. However, that’s all about to change with the upcoming 2018 Camry, designed by Toyota to be more powerful, more fuel-efficient, and more eye-catching than every Camry before it. Depending on which trim level you choose to go with (and Toyota’s giving you plenty of options), the 2018 Camry comes with either a 2.5 liter four-cylinder engine, a 3.5 liter V6 engine, or a hybrid engine. The four-cylinder engine comes to 206 horsepower, a jump of 30 from last year, and a combined 35 mpg, a 26 percent improvement. If it’s fuel efficiency you’re after, the hybrid engine gives you an incredible combined 52 mpg. If engine power is more your speed, however, the V6 comes to an impressive 301 horsepower. These new Camry engines are obviously an improvement, but what about safety and technology features? Luckily, Toyota doesn’t skimp on these either – every 2018 Camry comes standard with the Toyota Safety Sense-P system, which includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and lane-departure warning. You can also find built-in navigation and Toyota’s Entune 3.0 infotainment system, which connects to your smartphone. The 2018 Camry is scheduled to reach Toyota dealers, including Peruzzi Toyota, this July. Come give us a visit at Peruzzi Toyota and see for yourself just how much the Camry has changed in a year. And if you’re in the market for a new 2017 Camry, or even a used or certified pre-owned Camry, you can be sure that we’ve got you covered there, too. We’re looking forward to seeing you soon!
Consumer Reports Names 3 Toyotas to 2017 Best Cars of the Year List
Consumer Reports has released their annual Best Cars of the Year list for 2017, and for the third year straight, Toyota takes the win in multiple categories. Toyota makes three appearances on the 2017 list, more than any other brand, taking home the prizes for best subcompact car, best compact hybrid, and best midsized SUV. Let’s take a look at which Toyota vehicles were honored this year. For best subcompact car, the winner this year was the Toyota Yaris iA. Although it’s a simple and affordable sedan, the 2017 Yaris iA still boasts an impressive driving experience, a smooth and reliable ride well beyond what you would expect from a car at this price. The Yaris iA also keeps up to date on the latest tech features, including an infotainment system and automatic emergency braking. Winning the top prize for best compact hybrid of 2017 is, unsurprisingly, the Toyota Prius. Besides its famed fuel economy of 52 mpg, the 2017 edition of the Prius has also made improvements in reliability, handling, and safety features. Once again Toyota shows us exactly why the Prius is the world’s most popular hybrid vehicle. The third and final Toyota to make the list is the 2017 Highlander, beating out the stiff competition for this year’s best midsized SUV. Toyota gives you everything you would expect from a great SUV, such as reliability and plenty of space for both passengers and storage, but also throws in a little extra. The engine comes upgraded with 25 more horsepower than last year’s model, and the vehicle comes standard with Toyota’s advanced Star Safety System. You can find all three of these amazing vehicles at Peruzzi Toyota. Give them each a test drive and let us help you figure out which one would be the best for you! Whether it’s a subcompact, a hybrid, or an SUV, you can’t go wrong when you go with Toyota, especially if it’s a Toyota from Peruzzi. Stop by today!
Toyota Highlander Hybrid Wins 2017 #1 Midsized SUV Award
Everyone knows that the Toyota Prius is an excellent choice for drivers looking for a hybrid vehicle, but there’s another hybrid in the Toyota lineup that’s just as great. The 2017 Toyota Highlander Hybrid was recently chosen by U.S. News & World Report as the #1 Midsize SUV for 2017. Judged on its performance, interior, safety, and reliability, the 2017 Highlander Hybrid came out on top in a field of 19 other vehicles, including the Hyundai Santa Fe and the Honda Pilot. SUVs aren’t typically known for their fuel efficiency. However, the Highlander Hybrid’s engine gives it an excellent fuel rating of 29 city mpg and 27 highway mpg, confidently beating out the midsize SUV average of 19 city mpg and 25 highway mpg. Compared to the standard gas-only Highlander, you’ll find yourself saving roughly $350 on gas each year with the Hybrid Highlander. In addition to receiving U.S. News & World Report’s 2017 Best Midsize SUV prize, the new Highlander Hybrid was also named by the same publication as 2017’s Best Hybrid SUV for Families. Its spacious 8-seat interior and Entune infotainment system make for a comfortable and fun ride, while its list of safety features make for a peaceful ride. A pre-collision system, pedestrian and vehicle detection, and adaptive cruise control technology all ensure the safest possible driving experience for you and your family. Toyota is constantly winning accolades for its high-performing, consistently reliable vehicles like the 2017 Highlander Hybrid. This is why Peruzzi Toyota is confident that you’ll be immensely satisfied with your vehicle purchase. Whether it’s a new 2017 Highlander or a certified pre-owned Camry, we guarantee that you’ll be driving home from Peruzzi Toyota with a vehicle that you love. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Toyota Invests $350,000 to Develop Flying Car
For some people, it’ll never feel like we’re truly living in the future until flying cars become a part of everyday life. However, Toyota has moved the world one step closer towards that futuristic reality. The company has just invested 40 million yen, or roughly $350,000, into another Japanese company called Cartivator, which has been working to develop a flying car called the Skydrive. Of course in order to actually get the Skydrive off the ground, both literally and figuratively, Cartivator has to start off small. The vehicle will measure 9.5 by 4.3 feet, have just three wheels, and will only be able to carry one passenger at a time. The top flight-speed is expected to be 62 mph, and the vehicle will travel at about 10 meters above the ground. Unlike a plane, which takes off on a gradual incline and requires a runway to get going, the Skydrive will be a vertical take-off vehicle utilizing drone flight technology. With the help of Toyota’s investment, Cartivator hopes to begin Skydrive test flights as early as next year and commercialize the vehicle within three years. In fact, Cartivator and Toyota hope to have the Skydrive featured at the opening ceremony of the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo to light the Olympic flame. So mark your calendars – 2020 is officially the start of the “future” as we’ve always pictured it would be. Toyota is committed to making vehicles with the future in mind, and Peruzzi Toyota has always been committed to getting them to you at the best prices possible. While we patiently wait for the Skydrive to make its way to Toyota lots, take a trip over to Peruzzi Toyota. Come see Toyota’s latest advancements in automotive technology, such as the energy efficient and environmentally friendly 2017 Prius, Prius c, and Prius v. Schedule a test drive today or stop by our Toyota dealership in Hatfield, PA. There’s no better time than the present to start thinking about the future.

Toyota Unveils FT-4X Concept
Appealing to the millennial market seems to be a tactic that every company across every industry is trying out these days. With the unveiling of their new concept car the FT-4X, Toyota is throwing their hat into the millennial ring in a big way. Debuting last month at the New York Auto Show, the FT-4X Concept was created by Toyota’s Calty design shop with the millennial urban professional in mind, for those who need a vehicle to navigate their everyday city lives but also love spur-of-the-moment, casual outdoor adventures. The name of the FT-4X is short for “Future Toyota Four-Wheel Drive Crossover.” It’s a vehicle that achieves its “rugged charm” by somehow being both boxy and sleek, both utilitarian and luxurious. This emphasis on stylish functionality will appeal to those who enjoy the “casualcore” lifestyle – a term used by Toyota to describe the millennial shift from lengthy outdoor treks to brief, spontaneous journeys. Once you look closer at the details of the FT-4X, it almost seems to be more Swiss army knife than car. Among the more unique features are a GoPro camera inside the driver’s side mirror, a central armrest that becomes a sleeping bag, a ceiling light that becomes a flashlight, a sound system that becomes a boombox, and inside door handles that become water bottles. Even if you hadn’t planned on a camping trip, this vehicle gives you pretty much no choice but to get out into the wild. Keep in mind that the FT-4X is only a concept car, meaning that it’s just a design at this stage, with no definite plans of making it to production. If Toyota does decide to produce the FT-4X, however, you can be sure that you’ll be able to find one at Peruzzi Toyota. Whether you’re looking for a car for casual driving around town, or for something more rugged and adventurous, Peruzzi Toyota has got you covered with our inventory of over 200 new and pre-owned vehicles.
