This astonishing milestone occurred at Toyota’s plant in Princeton, Indiana – where a new Toyota Sienna minivan rolled off the line. The Sienna model was just redesigned, the most recent model to get a makeover. It now ranks as the only minivan sold in America that offers a hybrid powertrain with optional all-wheel drive and is among Toyota’s most popular models. Of course, it’s not alone: the Camry, Avalon, and RAV4 are also top sellers in the industry (and they’re all available to see at Peruzzi Toyota’s showroom in Hatfield!)
As Toyota’s presence has grown in the U.S., the company has made an enormous investment in American communities. There are currently ten plants around the country, including Texas, Kentucky, and aforementioned Indiana. In the past seven years, the company has created nearly 7,000 jobs. Another measure of their commitment? The company earmarked $13 billion to be spent in creating technology and jobs, with the goal to reach that by the end of 2021. Instead, it met that challenge a year ahead of schedule.
