Smarter Car Shopping (Supply Chain Edition)
We’ve all heard about the issues with the supply chain. Yes, the slowdown of goods is impacting everything from Christmas presents and meat to cars. And then, there’s the inflation factor. From an economic standpoint, now isn’t the best time to buy — but when you need a new car, well, you need a new car. Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA is here to help you navigate this process of “pandemic shopping.”
SHOP AROUND (EVEN MORE THAN USUAL)
Automobile stock is limited right now, and tends to fly off the showroom floor as soon as it comes in. Don’t let that discourage you. Peruzzi Toyota is happy to keep you up to date with what we have or when new vehicles are coming in. And as we always do, we’ll be completely transparent on the best deals that we can offer. But during this especially weird time, it’s not a bad idea to check with other dealers, too. Another upside to shopping around is that the longer you can wait, the more likely you are to nab a good deal.
BE FLEXIBLE
If you really need a new ride during this unpredictable time, expand your options in order to save money. Maybe something smaller (and cheaper) that will deliver better gas mileage (and savings at the pump)? Perhaps a reliable used car will do the trick. Peruzzi Toyota has a whole fleet of thoroughly inspected rides that will last you for years.
CULTIVATE PATIENCE
Getting a new vehicle for a decent price isn’t quite as easy as it was a year or three ago. That’s just an economic reality. Taking your time to shop around, shift your expectations and staying in touch with the friendly staff at Peruzzi Toyota will pay off. There are always ways to find a great car, truck, or SUV and we’re here to help you do it!
Big News! Toyota Poised to Beat GM In Sales
For decades, GM has reigned over the auto market, dominating in the full-year sales category for the last (wait for it) 90 years. But that may be about to change, as it appears that Toyota is set to take the top spot in yearly sales for 2021. According to third-quarter reports, Toyota has outsold GM – and that trend looks to continue into 2022. Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA, a proud member of the Toyota family, explains how the company is achieving this landmark.
For the third quarter, Toyota is expected to notch 1,857,884 units in the sales column; by comparison, GM sold over 80,000 less. That’s a remarkable achievement and gives Toyota an edge approaching the new sales year.
So, what’s to account for the lead? Besides the quality and stylishness of Toyota vehicles, there’s smart planning. The shortage of the microchips that operate nearly everything in today’s vehicles has severely impacted production for many automakers, even while demand for new cars is up.
However, Toyota had a taste of “shortages” several years back in the wake of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan. That devastating event caused the company to rethink their process. “What we learned from the earthquake is we needed to carry more inventory of slow-moving parts — and chips were one of the commodities we identified early on,” Executive Vice President of Sales at Toyota Motor North America Bob Carter told Automotive News.
Adding to the sales race between GM and Toyota is that the highly anticipated new edition of the Toyota Tundra will be out shortly.
The hot new Tundra will be available at Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield very soon. But there are so many other sleek, powerful models to browse in our showroom. Whether you need a fun vehicle like the Camry to zip around town in or something sturdier, like the 4-Runner for weekend off-roading, we’ve got you covered!
THE NEW TOYOTA TACOMA: EXCITING CHANGES IN STORE
While its truck lineup is super-popular, Toyota isn’t resting on its laurels. The company is in the process of making some big redesign changes; the Tundra has gotten its makeover for 2022 and the Tacoma is next up. Even though Tacoma outsells other similar mid-size trucks from competitors Ford and Chevrolet, there are some tweaks in store that will take it to the next level. While it won’t make its debut until sometime in 2022, Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA has a few sneak peeks at what’s coming.
The Toyota Tacoma will be built on the new TNGA-F frame, which will make for a more comfortable ride. Additionally, the old rear-leaf suspension is being swapped out for coil springs, which will make handling – especially during any kind of off-roading – even easier. By comparison, Ford and Chevy are still using less-cushy leaf-spring suspension.
On the outside, the Tacoma will sport sleeker touches on the grille, headlights and taillights. On the inside, this new version upgrades the technology. For example, expect a larger touchscreen as well as standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
OK, so now Peruzzi Toyota takes you under the hood of the upcoming Toyota Tacoma. There’s a hot rumor that it will utilize a turbo-charged four-cylinder engine that produces a robust 275 horsepower. A hybrid version is also more than likely, and the company states that a fully electric version will also roll out by 2025.
Currently, this updated version of the Toyota Tacoma is being tested as a prototype, but it will be out before too long. And the place you can claim this exceptional mid-size truck – or any of the fantastic Toyota lineup, for that matter — is at Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield! Come on in to have a closer look.
Whether it’s a car, SUV or truck, a vehicle purchase is one of the biggest any of us will ever make. Ensuring that you get the most for your hard-earned money is essential. That’s why Toyota has long been known as one of the most reliable, easy-to-own brands. Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA is proud to represent them, and proud to share these key reasons why Toyota should be your first pick.
LOW COST OF OWNERSHIP
The sticker price of a new vehicle is only the start. Over its lifetime, you also have to factor in things like repairs and overall maintenance. Toyotas are well-known for being super-affordable up front, with exceptionally low maintenance needs and a long life on the road. Overall, the “cost of ownership” for Toyota vehicles makes them one of the best buys on the market.
A HIGH FOCUS ON FUNCTION
Toyota’s reputation for reliability is rooted in some smart, conscious decisions. Many vehicles today feature a lot of high-end parts that cost a lot to repair or replace when something goes wrong. Toyota’s goal to be both dependable and practical has resulted in using parts that have been rigorously tested for dependability and longevity. So, if something does happen, it’s far easier and economical to address it.
While all Toyotas are sporty and great-looking, it’s more important that they won’t let you down when it counts.
TECHNOLOGY THAT’S TESTED
Every model year, we hear about all the spiffy new features being unveiled by our competitors. But Toyota has found that it’s better to thoroughly research and test new technology before rushing to add it to our vehicles. This way, we know it will be safe and reliable for our customers. You’ll definitely get all the great technology that you want, but you’ll also know that it’s been rigorously checked.
These are only three of the great reasons that Toyotas – like those available at Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield – make for the most reliable vehicles you can buy. We’ve got so many options to show you at our showroom; come by for an up-close experience!
Toyota’s “Driver’s Companion” and How it Works
It’s a fact that vehicles are becoming more and more “connected.” It’s absolutely vital that we have access to the digital life we’ve built through our phones and more. Toyota is always on the leading edge of new technology for their vehicles, and one of the coolest new features is the “Driver’s Companion,” featured in the new Toyota Sienna. Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA is pretty excited about it, so here’s how it works.
Essentially, the Driver’s Companion serves as a digital owner’s manual. Let’s be honest: how many of us actually read the thing? We just jump in and go. But then comes a moment when you’re not sure how to set your seats for maximum comfort or how to use the different camera features. Or what about all those buttons on the console? You’re scrambling for an answer. The Driver’s Companion in the Toyota Sienna is a voice-activated assistant – named “Joya,” by the way – who walks you through whatever you need or want to know.
Driver’s Companion is synced to your particular vehicle through the VIN, so it knows every feature. And there are a lot of great ones that you’ll want to be aware of, so let Joya make it easy to get the absolute most out of your Sienna!
At the moment, Driver’s Companion is only available in the Toyota Sienna (which is available at Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield). Yet, the automaker is always looking to connect more customers with leading-edge technology that makes driving safer, more convenient, and fun.
From the suite of safety-sense features that alert you to too-close drivers, pedestrians, lane departure and more, to connectivity to your phone and infotainment, stop into Peruzzi Toyota to see the many ways our vehicles make driving better.
KEEP YOUR TOYOTA PAINT JOB HAPPY
Car owners appreciate the look of a sweet, shiny paint job. It shows that your vehicle still retains the youthful glow it had when it rolled out of the showroom, and it will definitely help when it comes to resale time. Of course, real life gets in the way. Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA has some tips to keep the exterior of your vehicle looking pristine. Here are the most common paint problems and how to avoid or fix them.
BIRDS AND BUGS
They’re everywhere, and around every day. Park under a tree for shade, and you’re likely to come away with at least one icky “splotch” from a bird. Plus, there are bugs that fly onto the hood during highway drives. Letting these little “oopsies” of nature sit unattended can affect your paint job with their acidity. For bird droppings, wipe it off with a combination of vinegar and water. Wet dryer sheets work really well on getting dead bugs off of your ride.
WATER STAINS
Water happens, and one of the most common paint stain issues is caused by hard water with its specific mineral deposits. The best way to keep it from attacking your paint? Wash and wax your Toyota vehicle regularly, ensuring that you thoroughly dry it in between.
FINGERPRINTS
You touch your Toyota vehicle more than you probably know. The oils and dirt on your mitts can leave an imprint on the paint job (in ways that can be damaging). Every so often, give a little wipe down around the door areas with some gentle dishwashing soap and a microfiber cloth.
ASPHALT, PAINT, CEMENT
Road construction sites are a paint job’s nightmare. There are a whole host of things that get kicked up onto your vehicle, even if you’re driving by slowly. Removing them and keeping your vehicle’s paint job intact requires patience and care. First, try an oil-based substance remover like WD-40 or Goo-Gone. Work oh-so-gently to ensure that all that road crud has been fully removed.
Of course, if you need some serious paint fixes, Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA has a qualified body shop that can polish your Toyota up and keep it looking great!
Toyota is a Best Brand for Teen Drivers
Every parent knows it’s coming: a teen driver who needs their own car. Yes, there are costs involved, but more importantly, new drivers need a vehicle that will help mitigate any “oopsies” they make on the road. U.S. News and World Report recently named Toyota to their current list of the Best Cars for Teens. Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA is proud to be part of this exceptional brand and shares the report’s findings.
To make the list, vehicles needed to offer active safety features – including strong crash test ratings — to help teens as they develop their driving skills. Features like collision warning, lane keep assist and automatic emergency braking were also key in helping teen drivers stay safe on the road.
In the “New Car” category, the 2021 Toyota Camry made the list as a top car in the $35-45K price range. However, it’s in the “Used Car” category where Toyota really shines. Out of five segments, Toyota is tops in four of them.
In the “Large Car” column, the 2017 Toyota Avalon ranks number one. For a “Midsize SUV,” the 2017 Highlander gets the nod, while the 2018 Corolla is the favorite in the “Small Car” category. Finally, the 2017 Toyota RAV4 is tops on the “Small SUV” list.
When it comes to making the “Used Car” list, vehicles (2016-2018 years) need to show a strong combination of dependability, safety ratings and ownership costs. Vehicles need to also feature the kind of tech that will help keep teen drivers safer.
Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield offers not just the best new Toyotas, but also a full line of quality pre-owned vehicles. We thoroughly inspect our cars and SUVs to ensure that they’re top-quality. These Toyotas are a great (and safe) value for you…or your teen driver. Explore our inventory on our site or come in and let us show you what we have to offer.
