The Toyota Safety Sense Advantage
One of the reasons Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA is so proud to represent the brand is its never-ending commitment to safety for its owners. The Toyota suite of Safety Sense features has been developed over years to deliver the most cutting-edge technology for making drives, both long and short, much safer. Let’s take a closer look at what’s included.
PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM WITH PEDESTRIAN DETECTION
Cameras and sensors continually scan the area to detect other vehicles, obstacles, or pedestrians. You’re alerted of them through both audio and visual cues; if you fail to brake in time, the system does it for you. Plus, Brake Assist kicks in to give you a little more power in stopping.
LANE DEPARTURE ALERT/LANE ASSIST
Even the most conscientious driver will have moments when they begin to drift out of their lane – and that can spell trouble. That is where this technology comes in. Once you hit 32 mph, the system kicks in and uses audio/visual reminders to get you back on track. If you’re drifting out of your lane without using a turn signal, Lane Assist makes small steering adjustments to correct things.
AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAMS
Not only does this offer more safety during night driving, but it’s also convenient; the headlights automatically switch to “low” when it detects an oncoming vehicle. One less thing you have to do manually!
ROAD SIGN ASSIST
How great is this? This system looks ahead, scanning the road for signs reflecting speed limit changes, stop signs, and more, then displays it inside the cabin. It’s an additional “heads up” to help you from being caught unawares.
Naturally, Peruzzi Toyota wants to remind you that while these technological advancements are great, they should be partnered with common sense driving skills. Nothing replaces your own attention behind the wheel, but it’s nice to know you’ve got a helping hand on the road, courtesy of Toyota!
Your vehicle is one of the most expensive purchases you’ll ever make, so naturally, you want to keep it for as long as you can. Toyotas have a reputation for being among the most durable on the road, and now there’s hard proof: a recent study by iSeers.com ranked Toyota high up on their list for staying power on the road. Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA is proud to represent these extraordinarily long-lasting vehicles. The study looked at data from 260 million cars, then examined the 23 models that were shown to have a 20 percent chance (or more) for reaching a quarter-million miles.
Of the 14 top-ranked SUVs, Toyota models made a heck of a showing, garnering 5 slots on the list. The Toyota Land Cruiser made the #1 spot among SUVs, demonstrating a nearly 48% chance of reaching 250,000 miles. The 4Runner had a 47.9% chance of hitting that mark, while the Toyota Sequoia came in at 47.1%. The RAV4 and Highlander also made the top 14 SUVs that can potentially achieve the honor.
Among minivans, the iSeer.com report placed the Toyota Sienna in the number one slot for reaching 250,000 miles (with a 23.3% chance, almost 4 times more likely than the average). So not only is the Sienna affordable and packed with safety and comfort features for your family, but you’ll be also able to enjoy it for many years to come.
In the truck category, the Toyota Tundra has a 49.1% chance of reaching a quarter million miles. That’s nearly two times what the average truck can expect. In fact, a Tundra owner recently made headlines when his odometer rolled over a million miles! The Toyota Tacoma followed close on the Tundra’s heels (tires?) given an almost 42% chance of reaching the 250K mark.
This latest survey demonstrates why drivers know to turn to Toyota for vehicles that can be handed down to the next generation. Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield is happy to show you around these exceptionally long-lasting SUVs, trucks, and minivans. Come on in!
Get Ready For Your Summer Road Trips!
‘Tis the season for hitting the road in your Toyota, on trips both long and short. Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA wants our customers to stay safe and comfortable on the road, so check out these tips for getting your vehicle ready for summer fun!
First, have your AC unit thoroughly checked by one of our service technicians. We’ll make sure all hoses, belts, and seals are in peak shape, the refrigerant is at capacity, and everything is running at peak efficiency. After all, nothing kills summer fun quicker than an unexpectedly sweltering car. On a related note, purchase a dashboard sunshade to keep the interior temperature down (especially if you’re parked in direct sunlight) and crack the windows to let any hot air escape. That will give your air conditioner an assist once you turn it on, helping it to not have to work so hard.
Other things on your road trip checklist should be checking engine coolant levels, and your wiper fluids and blades. A fresh oil change will start you off on the right footing, as will a thorough battery check. And speaking of “footing,” you’ll want to check that your tires are properly inflated (seasonal changes affect air pressure) and that the treads are in good condition. That will also help you get the best fuel performance, too. The service department at Peruzzi Toyota can easily (and quickly) handle all these tasks for you.
Another thing to not overlook: the exterior. Before the summer heats up, give the outside of your Toyota a good coat of wax to protect the paint job from the punishing rays.
Make sure you have a charger for your cell phone, plenty of water, a hat (or hats) and sunscreen in case you find yourself stuck anywhere for a time. And it’s always a good idea to let someone know where you’re headed off to, and when you’re expected to return.
Now, get out there and have the best summer ever!

First off, the 2024 Toyota Tacoma has gotten a full redesign, the first since 2015. This fourth generation looks a little bit more “muscular” than its predecessors, with a few extra angles that give it a totally fresh appearance. As for the truck bed, there will be several options, including a long bed, and a crew and extended cab. You’ll also find a new platform, a huge body-on-frame platform that makes towing and off-roading even easier than before.
Another piece of exciting news for the 2024 Toyota Tacoma is that for the first time ever, you’ll be able to enjoy a hybrid option. The i-Force Max engine option provides better fuel efficiency, as well as more horsepower and torque.
The interior technology on the 2024 Tacoma has gotten a big upgrade as well. You’ll find a bigger touchscreen than the current 8” one, along with a new audio system that offers wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There’s also an available JBL sound system now, with a JBL Flex Speaker that can be removed to become a portable speaker. Of course, the improved systems include Toyota Connected Services to keep you safe on the road.
We’ve been hearing rumors for months, and now it looks like the most exciting ones are coming to pass for the newly designed 2024 Toyota Tacoma. Excellent technology. Even though it’s affordable, Toyota hasn’t skimped on the technology package in the 2023 Corolla Cross Hybrid. Things That Go “Bump” In The Road
We’re in the season of road repair, that time when the bumps, holes and cracks in the roads around Hatfield are being fixed. Of course, potholes aren’t just annoying, they can do a real number on your car. If the road crews haven’t quite reached those on your daily drive around town, Peruzzi Toyota has these suggestions for dealing with pesky potholes.
First, let’s talk about what hitting a pothole can do to your car. Depending on the size of the hole and the speed at which you hit it, you can really mess up the underside of the vehicle. Things like struts, suspension and alignment will be damaged. You’ll know your alignment has been affected if your steering wheel “pulls” to one side. Don’t waste time: make an appointment with the Peruzzi Toyota service experts to get things set right again. Putting it off will make repairs even more expensive.
Your tires as well will be impacted by hitting a pothole hard. One obvious sign of damage is a “bulge” which indicates that a breakage has occurred inside the sidewall. That’s going to require a replacement.
While potholes are an annoying fact of life, there are a few things you can do to mitigate any potential problems.
Start by making sure you keep full air pressure in each tire. This gives you a nice cushion between the rim and the pothole. If you’re not sure what the correct pressure is, you’ll find it in your Toyota owner’s manual.
While on the road, keep your eyes peeled. If you see a pothole, slow down; hitting one at high speed will damage your wheels, tires, shocks, struts, springs, you name it. However, try not to brake when directly over a pothole; that shifts the car’s weight and can increase the damage.
If you’re driving over a road where potholes are plentiful, grip the steering wheel firmly and keep it as steady as possible to avoid losing control. Also, watch out for water: it may be concealing a nasty surprise beneath.
Remember that whenever you hit an unexpected bump in the road, Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield is here to smooth things over and restore your vehicle’s performance!
How To Take Your Toyota To A Million Miles
Recently, a Toyota dealership in Florida noted that one of their customers had hit a biiiiig milestone: a man who bought a Toyota Highlander in 2006 hit an astonishing million miles on the odometer. For 17 years, he had used his Highlander for work, relying on it as a mobile office and for towing trailers for his asphalt paving business.
That’s pretty impressive, but not as unusual as you might think. Toyotas are known for being one of the most reliable brands on the market, with exceptional longevity. While you may not make a million miles, Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA offers these tips for keeping your car, truck, or SUV in peak condition. Who knows? Maybe you’ll break a record!
The owner of the Million Mile Highlander says the main key to keeping his Toyota running for all those years was simple: regular oil changes! This is one of the basic rules for keeping a vehicle in peak condition.
Regular maintenance around things like fluids, brakes, hoses, and filters will also keep things humming along. Pay attention to Toyota’s suggested maintenance schedule. The expertly trained technicians at Peruzzi Toyota will send you helpful reminders, seamlessly schedule an appointment, and get you back on the road in no time.
Don’t ignore funny sounds or little problems; get them looked at before they become a bigger deal. Also, pay attention to your tires. Keep them properly filled and rotated, and regularly check the treads to ensure you have the proper grip on the road, especially in tricky weather conditions.
The other secret to helping your Toyota reach peak longevity is to practice good driving habits. That means avoiding things like sudden accelerations, hard braking, and anything otherwise reckless.
While you may not go a million miles with your Toyota, you now know that it’s possible with this exceptionally durable brand. Take care of your Toyota, and it will take care of you!
The Easiest Maintenance You’ll Ever Do
When you think about it, your windshield is the “eye” of your car. Consider the wiper blades the part that keeps that eye seeing clearly. We take wipers for granted, but we shouldn’t. Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA has some tips on keeping this device at peak efficiency – and it’s a simple maintenance task you can do in minutes.
When your wiper blades start to fail, you’ll experience more streaks and smears that wreck your vision (and at some point, no amount of wiper fluid will help). That could wind up costing you big – as in a fender bender. Replacing them is easier than ever; most blades today can be installed in minutes without any special tools. Even the least mechanically minded among us can remove the old ones and slip on the new ones in about 10 minutes.
It’s a good idea to go for quality blades. You don’t have to choose the priciest ones, but wiper blades made of higher-grade materials will perform better and last longer. You’ll find that they’re quieter and smoother, which seems like a little thing – but over time, you’ll appreciate that added comfort during your ride.
Of course, sturdy new wiper blades will improve visibility during the most difficult weather conditions. That’s mission-critical for the safety of both you and your passengers.
So now that you’ve replaced them, what can you do to get the most from your new wiper blades? First, know that (depending on weather conditions) the average lifespan of blades is anywhere from six to nine months. Make them last as long as possible by never running them on a dry windshield (that awful squeaking sound…yikes!). If you can’t garage your car during snow or ice storms, reposition the blades by pointing them up. On that same note, warm up your windshield before you start scraping off any ice/snow; that’ll give your blades a helping hand.
Changing your wiper blades regularly is easier than changing your oil or rotating your tires –and just as important. Give yours a once-over today!
Toyota Models Named 2023 “Best Cars For Families”
Toyota wins again! U.S. News & World Report, a global leader in consumer advice, has just released their rankings for the 2023 “Best Cars for Families,” and two Toyota models made the top of the list. Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA is proud to share the findings.
There were 92 vehicles reviewed, and nine categories considered. Among them, the 2023 Toyota Camry Hybrid nabbed its first win as “Best Hybrid Car for Families.” For an astonishing tenth time, the 2023 Toyota Highlander Hybrid was named “Best Hybrid SUV for Families.”
In determining the top rankings, U.S. News considered things like interior space, easy-to-use tech features, cargo room, and teen driver controls. Safety technology was also a consideration – something that Toyota has long been known for. Both models include automatic emergency braking and a rear cross-traffic alert, for starters.
“Our 2023 Best Cars for Families offer the features, safety and space that will appeal to new parents, as well as parents with teen drivers or households that include grandparents,” said Jim Sharifi, managing editor of U.S. News Best Cars.
Of course, the Toyota hybrids are also great for families in the sense that they care for the next generation with eco-friendly engineering. They save money on fuel as well – money that can go towards vacations, or other fun things!
Peruzzi Toyota of Hatfield is so excited to be included on this prestigious list; it’s further validation of Toyota’s constant drive to create innovations and technology that will make the customer experience better and better.

What Do All Those Electric Vehicle Terms Mean?
Electric vehicles (EVs) are the fastest-growing segment of the automotive industry – but they’re not all alike. As they evolve, there are different ways of powering them, and those terms can be confusing. Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, PA is proud to offer some of the best EVs on the market and is here to break down the differences.
Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV): This is probably the most common EV these days, and you can find them in models like the Toyota Sienna. The hybrid runs on an electric propulsion system paired with a typical internal combustion engine. Drivers get better fuel economy than a regular vehicle, and the HEV doesn’t have to be plugged in to recharge.
Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV): As its name suggests, this is an EV powered solely by a rechargeable electric battery pack (think of it like a smartphone on wheels). A BEV doesn’t require gas, but like your phone, will need to be plugged in to charge up the battery.
Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV): Consider this the best combo of all available technology. The PHEV has a traditional combustion engine, but it also uses a rechargeable battery. Unlike the full hybrid, it can run completely on the electric battery (mainly for shorter distances). You’ll have to both add gas and charge it up to get the most out of a PHEV.
Fuel Cell Vehicle or EV (FCV/FCEV): This is the most sophisticated of the EVs, but also the least available right now. The fuel cell is powered by hydrogen fuel and a small battery that then powers the electric motor. FCEVs are more expensive right now due to the cost of the hydrogen fuel, but as time goes on, they’ll likely come down in price.
It’s obvious that the future is electric vehicles – and Peruzzi Toyota is staying on top of all the upcoming developments. Got questions? We’re always here to answer them!
